Tournament Office

 

The Tournament Office at the Under 12 Tour Illawarra Event will be in front of the Pro Shop. All players must register in the tournament office prior to their round, as well as return scorecards after their round.

 

 

Practice Facilities

 

Kiama Golf Club has  a practice putting green located in front of the Pro Shop. There is a shortened range located next to the 11th hole. you must bring yor own golf balls.

 

Local Rules

 

1. OUT OF BOUNDS (Rule 18.2)

  • 1.1. Those areas beyond the course boundary walls
  • 1.2. Beyond the inside points, at ground level, of any line of white stakes with black tops and includes the carpark areas and practice putting green.
  • 1.3. Federal Avenue is out of bounds and a ball coming to rest on, or beyond Federal Avenue is out of bounds even though it may lie on another part of the course.

2. PENALTY AREAS (Rule 17)

  • 2.1. Red Penalty Areas are defined by red stakes, lines
  • 2.2. Yellow Penalty Areas are defined by yellow stakes,

OBSTRUCTIONS (Rule 16)

3.1. Ground Under Repair

  1. Areas encircled by white paint, marked as dots, broken lines, unbroken lines or white pavers and /
  2. In the General Area, ground affected by tree roots on surfaces cut to fairway height or less.
    Interference does not exist if the tree roots only
  1. All stakes defining GUR, Penalty Areas, Distances
  2. All artificially surfaced roads & paths includes

4. ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITION -
NO PLAY ZONE (Rule 16.1f)

4.1. The area near the Green Keepers Shed defined by white stakes and/or lines is a no play zone that is to be treated as an abnormal course conditions. Free relief MUST be taken from interference by the no play zone.STROKES TAKEN. HOLE NUMBER 8, 12, 4, 16

LOCAL RULES

All garden beds formed with boarders are no play zones that are to be treated as an abnormal course conditions. Free relief MUST be taken from interference by the no play zone. When the ball is in the garden behind the 7" or 16 greens as an additional relief option the player may use the Dropping Zone (see local rule #9 for rules relating to the use of Dropping Zones). All other planted native areas are integral objects and no free relief

5. PENALTY AREA - NO PLAY ZONE

5.1 The Ornamental Garden that extends from the gth ramp to the Western boundary fence is a PENALTY AREA. Refer Rule 17.2. Options, Stroke and Distance or 2 Club lengths from point of entry, no nearer the hole, 1 stroke penalty.

6. TREES & SHRUBS

6.1. Staked trees and shrubs are no play zones and are ground under repair (the GUR includes any stakes and/or protective guards. Relief MUST be taken in accordance with 16.1b

7. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS (EG
SPRINKLER HEADS) CLOSE TO PUTTING GREENS - LINE OF PLAY INTERFERENCE

7.1. Rule 16.1b applies to immovable obstructions in the General Area close to putting greens. In addition to the types of interference described in Rule 16.1a, interference also exists if an immovable obstruction is:

  1. On the player's line of play, AND
  2. Is within two club-lengths of the putting green,
  3. Is within two club-lengths of the ball.

(Exception - There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable.)

 

8. BALL DEFLECTED BY POWER LINES

  • 8.1. If it is known or virtually certain that a player's ball hit a power line or a wire or pole supporting a power line, the stroke does not count. The player MUST play a ball without penalty from where the previous stroke was made see Rule 14.6 for what to do).
  • 9.1. When the player is using the dropping zone, the ball must be dropped in the dropping zone and it must come to rest in the dropping zone. The margin of the dropping zone is defined as 2 club-lengths from the

10. LOCAL RULES PROVISION BALL -
If it is not known or virtually certain that a ball played from the 15th tee has entered and remained in the penalty area in front of the 7" tee, or ("the left side of the 15" fairway") the player may play a provisional ball from the 15* tee. If the original ball is found outside the penalty area, the player must continue to play with that ball. If the original ball is found in the penalty area, the player may either play the original ball as it lies or continue to play with the ball played provisionally. Once a ball has been played provisionally under this Rule the player cannot use any of the relief options normally available for the original ball under Rule

17.1. If the original ball is not found or identified within the allotted search time, the player must continue with the ball played provisionally. The penalty incurred in continuing to play with the provisional is one stroke.

UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE PENALTY FOR BREACH OF A LOCAL RULE IS THE GENERAL PENALTY:
